May 19, 2026 - Volvo Announces US Pricing for EX60

This is the Telemetry Transportation Daily for May 19, 2026, and I'm Sam Abuelsamid, Vice President of Market Research for Telemetry.

At the beginning of this decade, Volvo Cars set itself a target of getting 50% of its global sales from battery electric vehicles by 2025 and reaching 100% by 2030.  As the auto industry has struggled in a number of regions with EV adoption rates, Volvo has had to adjust its targets. In 2025, only 25% of the Volvos sold globally were exclusively electric, with another 22% being plug-in hybrids. In 2024, Volvo adjusted its goals to reach 90 to 100% plug-in vehicles by 2030, including battery and plug-in hybrid variants. Any additional models are expected to be mild hybrids.

Volvo is now preparing to launch its next EV, the new EX60, a midsize two-row crossover. The EX60 is built on an updated SPA3 version of the platform that was used for the EX90 and Polestar 3, and it features a wide range of improvements, including a new 800-volt electrical architecture.  The EX60 will start deliveries in North America in late summer with three variants planned: the base rear wheel drive P6, the all-wheel-drive P10, and the higher performance, longer range P12. The P6 and P10 are projected to deliver 307 and 322 miles of range per charge. The P6 will have 369 horsepower and go 0-60 in 5.7 seconds, while the P10 will have 503 horsepower and go 0-60 in 4.4 seconds.

The 800V architecture will enable much faster charging than any previous Volvo EV, with 320-kW and a 10-80% charge time of 16 minutes for the P6, while the P10 is capable of absorbing 370-kW and adding 165 miles of range in 10 minutes. The P12 will launch at a later date with a range of 400 miles. The EX60 will also be the first Volvo sold with a J3400 charging connector, so it can be charged at 29,000 Tesla Supercharger stations without an adapter. Volvo has opened the order books for the EX60, with the P6 having a starting price of $59,795, including delivery and the P10 going for $62,145.

Thanks for listening.
